Supporting Appalachia's Recovery
Providing essentials and hope to natural disaster survivors.
Providing essentials and hope to natural disaster survivors.
Appalachian United initiative has been working in conjunction with Cajun Navy Relief, assisting negatively impacted disaster victims in the Appalachian region since Hurricane Helene, 27 September 2024, and continuing our mission to help lives that need rescue, shelter, stabilization and encouragement. While our immediate goals were to provide relief post-hurricane, we have grown to provide disaster relief across Appalachia in the wake of severe storms of early 2025. We see the need in so many lives and have been blessed with the ability to make a great impact with our small but mighty organization.
Our rebuilding efforts have included homes, bridges, roads, providing campers or other shelter, utility bills & propane for those in campers, clearing debris, even stabilizing roads to properties so people could receive end-of-life care in the midst of devastating storms. Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia and Indiana are areas we have provided direct support.
Our recent focus has also been funding and sourcing essential vehicles so victims may continue employment, earning an income and independently thriving. This need is greater among lower income communities, who didn't have full coverage for their older vehicles, lost to disaster. This effort positively impacts their ability to work, provide for themselves and their family, attend medical appointments, and support others in the community. In the past 4 months we have given over 10 families or individuals hope with a vehicle or mechanical assistance. Larger SUV models are a huge request and we will continue to pray and ask for financial assistance or donations of this need.
Our volunteers and leaders work tirelessly without payment, to provide life giving support in the midst of disaster situations. We are Neighbors helping Neighbors, the heart of American strength.
We believe in empowering our community to become agents of change in their communities. Your donation can help us provide life giving roads, bridges, vehicles, campers and support to individuals who lost that in disasters giving independence to work and help their families.
We need volunteers to help us accomplish our rebuilds and recovery efforts effectively. Whether it's clean up, construction, planning or administrative tasks, your support can help us achieve our goals.
